mr. revise did such job of revising little black sambo s story sam has grown old man , few people remember him. still managed escape during mass breakout golden boughs turning of robin page’s tigers butter. upset mister revise greatly, viewed sam 1 of greatest successes. according revise, sam s story censored, shunned , forgotten oversensitive mundys . in great fables crossover, kevin thorn summoned sam along hansel, hoping inspire him in writing masterpiece. after numerous disagreements, sam dumped hansel out of wheelchair , off cliff. attempted, unsuccessfully, put end thorn s plans stealing magical pen. during final jack of fables story arc, revealed has become father little baby boy, sammy junior, result of one-night stand robin page. sam 1 of few regular characters survives jack of fables final issue.

the tin man

the tin man first seen in flashbacks during fables: legends in exile story arc, while fleeing adversary s forces. in fables spin-off cinderella: fables forever, revealed he, along cowardly lion, dorothy gale , toto made mundy world in year of 1943, having been on run adversary s forces years. tin man , cowardly lion decided live out on jersey pine barrens rather staying @ farm, while dorothy went on live killer hire among mundys. @ point years later, of them captured mr. revise s people , imprisoned @ golden boughs. tin man used have sorts of appendages attached body, including tin cannons, rotating saw , large drill, removed when revised. when bookburner attacked golden boughs, mr. revise reluctantly allowed many of revised fables restored original self, , tin man magically got of appendages back. in final issue of jack of fables, tin man , many former prisoners caught in middle of confrontation between jack frost 2 , jack horner, has been turned dragon. jack frost believes tin man on dragon s side , kills him chopping off head.

humpty attempted escape golden boughs again , again until succeeded during mass breakout orchestrated jack; himself shattered when blasting several of robin page’s tigers. since humpty had promised lead jack hidden treasure, jack took humpty dumpty parts him, , did impossible putting humpty dumpty again, using copious amounts of super glue. found treasure eventually, humpty captured bookburner , forced join him in march against golden boughs. after got himself broken again, bookburner had him resurrected evil version of former self. apparently, humpty recovered, , old self again in final jack of fables story arc. killed when hillary page fired rifle-mounted grenade launcher in chaotic fight in final issue of jack of fables.

paul bunyan , babe blue ox

paul bunyan used travel length , breadth of fable homeland of americana, trusty blue ox @ side. has been shrunk down smaller version of himself mr. revise, still grows in size when angry or when gets closer americana. when hillary page cooked plan venture in americana, blackmailed bunyan go her, , both captured bookburner when reached destination. bookburner killed bunyan burning bunyan s book , had him resurrected 1 of loyal soldiers, resulting in bunyan s ox left on own. bunyan seemingly killed when gary pathetic fallacy unleashed powers on him when bookburner s army attacked golden boughs.

babe blue ox transformed miniature ox mr. revise; after babe , bunyan caught trying escape golden boughs during mass escape orchestrated jack horner, revise had them both thrown down memory hole punishment, resulting in shrunken bunyan becoming human-sized , babe turning miniature blue ox. throughout series, babe enjoys entertaining reader own private musings. babe seems 1 of few characters breaks fourth wall, unclear talks (himself, reader or imaginary audience). seems able find himself in improbable situations, without showing sign of surprise (some characters mistake him dog, though looks is: blue ox). bunyan seems little confused babe s identity, keeps referring babe , though refers babe ox , insulted when calls babe cow. babe loyal jack, delusional in mind likes talk in mind stories makes up. babe 1 of few characters have survived in final jack of fables story arc.

wicked john

a man spitting image of jack horner, except dark hair. used best friends raven , shown several times trying alice s attentions, though s disgusted him. revealed jack horner never involved in beanstalk or giant-killing incidents, unknowing copy of wicked john. upon wicked john s death, great power decided write him stories, got name wrong, creating jack horner. john later revived, , both fables exist.

gary pathetic fallacy informs jack of facts after mysterious, old man shows , plunges sword excalibur through jack s chest (and dies shortly thereafter). jack, can’t sword out, delighted news, since means sword meant john, “real” version. jack able pull excalibur out of chest , impales john it, before leaving john behind.

in final story arc of series, shown john has been @ grand canyon, place left behind, @ least 2 decades, still living sword stuck in chest. being used tourist attraction impaled wild man . appears no 1 s tried making real interaction him, beyond trying pull out sword fun. due treatment, has lost of mental stability , has become delusional. eventually, has enough of being attraction , makes long journey find gary pathetic fallacy. find jack, has been transformed dragon, , gary. @ same time, jack frost 2 arrives slay dragon jack, not knowing dragon father. gary, rushing jack s defense, pulls sword right out of john in order defend jack, , wicked john dies injuries.

raven

raven native american can turn raven , guided bird spirit. referred trickster figure, true mythology. during time prisoner @ golden boughs, spirit instructed him stay close copy of jack of tales. raven, many others, believed wicked john, spitting image of jack except dark hair, copy of jack horner, , raven , john became close friends. after mass escape golden boughs, revealed john original jack of tales , jack copy. after hearing news, raven chose leave john behind , become jack s companion instead, since spirit had instructed him befriend copy , not original. staying true trickster figure mythology, close turning on jack more once when trouble arose, bird spirit convinced him otherwise, reminding him supposed jack. jack , raven s ways parted after destruction of golden boughs, when raven chose stay group of former prisoners.

decades later, in final story arc of series, spirit comes raven in dream , tells him has forgotten purpose in life, protect jack horner. spirit commands him gather every ally can muster , save jack horner, who, unbeknown raven, has been transformed dragon. raven tells others bird spirit has shown him way fabletown, , group sets off find place. group follows spirit days, until reach destination, finding in middle of battle between jack frost 2 , jack dragon. raven lies others , convinces them protect dragon, saying dragon 1 knows secret way fabletown. realizes have been tricked when jacks kills several of them, believing out steal treasure. page sisters show up, , devastated when jack burns books of original fable stories have been looking for. upset @ loss of books (the sisters needed them restoring immortality), start shooting around them , raven shot through head , chest. dies, asks spirit why led them death trap, spirit replies, no particular reason. thought d funny (though realized other being had been pulling strings, well).

alice

alice spent of time inside golden boughs fending off advances of wicked john, man openly despised. managed escape john henry , pecos bill during big breakout, , group briefly accompanied jack horner, told them story behind identity jack frost. jack made joking pass on her, alice rejected him. last seen in golden boughs during bookburner s attack, mr. revise gives copy of original story, act supposed grant powers character had been stripped away. however, whatever abilities alice had returned never shown.

alice not seen among fables left golden boughs after destruction, , not present during series finale, indicating may 1 of few survived series. in series final story arc, page sisters come across several books of original fable stories (from before revised mr. revise), 1 of called alice s adventures beyond grave (this may or may not indicate might able return living, though may or may not have been killed every 1 in jack of fables series).

a blonde feeds on people’s luck eating brain. fled fable homeland americana in order escape bookburner, , settled in las vegas in mundane world. in vegas, had lucky casino winners kidnapped use them grisly rituals. left string of bodies in wake, captured revise s people , taken golden boughs. lady luck 1 of goldilocks’ revolutionaries, believed bookburner , army coming save them captivity @ golden boughs. ironically, bookburner s army shot revolutionaries down when did arrive. apparently, survived, cropped in final jack of fables story arc. shot , killed page sisters in chaotic battle in final issue of jack of fables. remarked not [her] lucky day .
