samson


following sale of sue, tyrannosaurus rex skeleton was, under individual name of z-rex , put auction on ebay in 2000 asking price of on usd 8 million. failed sell online purchased undisclosed price in 2001 british millionaire graham ferguson lacey, renamed skeleton samson after biblical figure of same name.


this specimen, discovered on private land in harding county, south dakota in 1981 michael zimmerschied, , dee zimmerschied , on 4 october 1992 (alan , robert detrich re-discovered samson after found , deemed paleontologist s several bones had washed in , there nothing left). shortly after when detrich brother found complete , undistorted tyrannosaurus rex skull ever discovered, prepared carnegie museum starting in may 2004. after preparation complete in march 2006, specimen returned owner, plans put on educational tour.


samson along other dinosaur skeletons sold @ auction on 3 october 2009, exhibited in 2011 @ embedded systems conference silicon valley.


samson measured 11.9 m (39 ft), shorter sue.
