in iran 12-year school categorized in 2 stages: elementary school , high school. takes 6 years student graduate elementary school , 5 years high school , 1 year pre-university college( independed on field) . after graduating high school(or pre-university if needed), students acquire diploma. having diploma, student can participate in iranian university entrance exam or konkoor. university entrance exam conducted every year national organization of education assessment, organization under supervision of ministry of science, research , technology. members of bahá í religion, much-persecuted minority officially forbidden attend university, in order prevent members of faith becoming doctors, lawyers or other professionals.
