nabi rubin located in region targeted haganah´s operation lightning (mivtza barak) during 1948 arab–israeli war, aimed force arab inhabitants move. during 10–12 may 1948, units of ephraim sub-district, apparently without success, repeatedly mortared , raided nabi rubin, aim of forcing evacuation.

according salman abu-sitta, in 1998, there 10,116 palestinian refugees nabi rubin or descendants.
