it accurate in both visible , ultraviolet ranges. working in both ultraviolet , visible regions of spectrum, model du produced accurate absorption spectra obtained relative ease , accurately replicated. national bureau of standards ran tests certify du s results accurate , repeatable , recommended use.


other advantages included high resolution , minimization of stray light in ultraviolet region. although not cheap, initial price of $723 made available average laboratory. in comparison, in 1943, ge hardy spectrophotometer cost $6,400. practical , reliable, du rapidly established standard laboratory equipment.
