the masterpiece of these spaces fountain presided on main garden of huerta del rey (orchard of king). fountain consisted of pond , large cup topped sculpture samson slaying philistine , masterpiece mannerist sculptor giambologna. sculpture came house of ambassador of florence, whom duke of lerma bought it. in year 1623, sculpture gifted philip iv, along painting veronese prince of wales, future charles of england. sculpture kept in victoria , albert museum in london , 1 of jewels of museum. cup of fountain left in valladolid in served basis fountain of bacchus, in island’s garden of aranjuez, remains today.
