season notes

the 2012–2013 pattern dance in short dance yankee polka on senior level , blues on junior level.


one accident occurred @ competition – @ 2012 cup of china, united states adam rippon collided china s song nan sustained concussion , withdrew.


age eligibility

skaters competing on junior level required @ least 13 not 19 – or 21 male pair skaters , ice dancers – before july 1, 2012. turned 14 before date eligible senior grand prix series , senior b internationals. turned 15 before july 1, 2012 eligible senior world, european, , 4 continents championships.

in order compete in grand prix series, skaters required reach minimum total score @ accepted isu event:



isu championships

in june 2012, international skating union increased minimum technical scores isu championships, reserving right revise scores if resulted in few or many entries. decision followed vote eliminate preliminary (qualifying) round. midway through season, isu confirmed season s minimums european, 4 continents , world junior championships, lowered singles , pairs minimums senior world championships.


to eligible compete @ european, 4 continents, junior world, or world championships, skaters required achieve following scores in prior isu-recognized event.

some skaters announced dissolution of partnership or formation of new one. listed changes involving @ least 1 partner competed @ worlds, europeans, 4 continents, junior worlds or senior grand prix, or medaled on junior grand prix circuit.
