tropical storm vicente brought showers , thunderstorms southern china had little impact. rough seas produced storm caused drownings of 2 swimmers in ham tin wan of sai kung. lowest pressure recorded 1010.4 hpa (mbar) on september 17. rough seas led chinese ship striking reef. 17 crew members rescued.


vietnam

vicente dropped heavy rains throughout vietnam, notably peaking @ 310 mm (12.2 in) in sơn la, 198 mm (7.7 in) in tam Đảo district, , 164 mm (6.4 in) in hòa bình. upwards of 150 mm (5.9 in) fell within 30 hours in northern areas of county. rains led increased water levels in thao river, threatened overflow , flood several villages. in thanh hóa province, estimated 1,600 homes collapsed , 9,700 dykes damaged. large expanses of rice fields submerged in floodwaters. in hà tĩnh province, total of 3,500 homes submerged floodwaters , additional 450 residences evacuated. additional 3,000 homes damaged , 250 destroyed in other areas throughout vietnam. landslide in yên bái province killed 3 people , injured 5 others. flooding destroyed bridge in duong quy , inundated newly built school. boy in quỳnh lưu district killed when tree, knocked down storm, fell on him. total of 40,000 hectares (98,842 acres) of farmland lost due storm. damages totaled ₫55 billion (us$3.48 million). in all, @ least 20 people killed storm.


thailand

the remnants of vicente dropped heavy rains on drought-stricken areas of thailand. 1 reservoir, has maximum capacity of 8 million cubic metres (282.5 million cubic feet), contained 312,000 cubic metres (11 million cubic feet) of water. following storm, reservoir gained 288,000 cubic metres (10.1 million cubic feet) of water. @ least 7 homes inundated mud due rains in soi siang tai.
