ashworth valley, lies between bury , rochdale, purchased in 1944 rochdale , heywood scout association districts. part of estate of earl of egerton. comedian/songwriter mike harding included mention of ashy valley in song cub scout going camp.

located in secure parkland of national trust property, ideal water-based activities has access via private jetty tatton mere. campsite has several large grassed camping areas bordering open activity field easy access water points , 3 smaller woodland sites. wood burning permitted using altar fires provided , in campfire circle, has rustic seating provided.
there no overnight indoor accommodation, there 1 building, equipped stainless steel commercial kitchen appliances , facilities, crockery , cutlery 50 people provided. activity room lit , can seat approximately 50 people meals. well-maintained dda compliant toilets, , showers serve visitors.

this large wooded camp can accommodate on 1000 in range of sites large open fields small clearings. toilet blocks have hot water , showers, , equipped special needs facilities.
there 2 buildings can hired, each sleeps 24 residents in combination of room sizes. george begg building boasts central heating , excellently equipped stainless steel kitchen commercial appliances, large fridge , freezer. lakeview building has heating throughout, kitchen has selection of appliances , better suited more reserved catering demands. both kitchens have crockery , cutlery provided 50 people.
