the west end production of charlie , chocolate factory received mixed positive reviews critics. while physical production , quality of performances praised, score , storytelling received criticism.


broadway

the broadway incarnation of production mixed negative reviews critics. despite enormous overhaul both book , score london production, critics noted storytelling still choppy , relied heavily on humor. criticism drawn decision cast adults golden ticket winners instead of children, lackluster sets redesigned broadway. however, christian borle received widespread praise performance willy wonka, amongst negativity towards other aspects of show.
