for classification purpose, dances of indonesia can divided according several aspects. in historical aspect can divided 3 eras; prehistoric-tribal era, hindu-buddhist era , era of islam. according patrons, can divided 2 genres; court dance , folk dance. in tradition, indonesian dances can divided 2 types; traditional dance , contemporary dance. notable indonesian dances includes aceh saman; balinese pendet, legong, barong , kecak; javanese kuda lumping, ronggeng , reog; sundanese jaipongan.
