the s10 introduced in 1986 replacement s6 nbc respirator in service 1960s, , manufactured avon rubber. s10s issued british nationals in saudi arabia during 1991 gulf war , marked blue coloured psm (primary speech module) fitting or blue painted spot on forehead; although meant returned authorities after iraqi threat (from scud missile attacks, potentially carrying chemical warheads) had expired, large numbers unaccounted in wake of conflict.


the s10 respirator due replaced new general service respirator (gsr) in 2007, although largely replaced in 2011 , s10 respirators disposed of when filters expire (the last of in 2014) no new s10 respirators bought
