the broadcast won 4 prizes @ primetime creative arts emmy awards in september 2012, including outstanding nonfiction series, cinematography, sound editing, , picture editing. following month, won in 3 categories @ wildscreen festival in bristol, uk, taking panda awards best sound, best cinematography, , best series, latter shared human planet. in january 2013, series won public vote best documentary series @ uk s national television awards, beating out big fat gypsy weddings, 1 born every minute , planet earth live.
