st helen s church village s anglican parish church located outside main village. first built in 1717 rebuilt in 1831. present church stone structure brick dressings, , consists of aisleless nave, transepts, chancel , west tower 1 bell.
the village has 2 restaurants. ganders set on upper side of village green, , dan s kitchen on south side. village s pub vine inn; situated opposite village green, on 100 years old. until late 1960s adjoined rival pub, sailor s home.
the village s school st helen s primary school, 61 pupils on roll making 1 of smallest on island. of 2008 looked school closed following education reforms move island two-tier education system. village protested signs displayed across village stating love st helens primary school . in march 2009 school saved closure.
the village has newsagent, post office , grocery store, bookshop , garage. baywatch café located on seafront , priory bay hotel close by.
