the grand alliance (মহাজোট) known 14 party alliance coalition government in bangladesh formed in 2008 , consisted of bangladesh awami league, jatiya party, jatiya samajtantrik dal- jasad, workers party, liberal democratic party , 9 other parties.


the liberal democratic party left grand alliance before election , contested independently. joined 18 party alliance in 2012.


18 party alliance

the 18 party alliance alliance of bangladeshi political parties led bangladesh nationalist party , other right wing parties. formed on 18 april 2012 in dhaka, extending predecessor 4 party alliance. 18 party alliance formed effort strengthen anti-government movement demanding restoration of caretaker government system.
