wilmington university s athletic teams known wildcats, , represented school s mascot, named wiley d. wildcat. university s teams compete in ncaa division ii , central atlantic collegiate conference sports.


athletic facilities

athletic teams @ university served wilmington university athletic complex in bear, delaware. opened in 2013, sports complex includes outdoor fields indoor, multi-purpose playing court basketball , volleyball. complex provides athletic facilities , home field men s , women s basketball , soccer teams women s lacrosse , volleyball teams.


wildcats mascot

the university s present mascot unveiled in 2009. following announcement of school s new mascot, university involved students , faculty in popular poll suggest , choose name new addition wilmington university s athletic presence. in late 2009, announced name wiley d. wildcat, suggested 1 of students of wilmington university, had won poll , become mascot s official name. in addition mascot s presence @ ncaa division ii athletic events, wildcat mascot has become instrumental part of university s national-champion cheerleading team.


championships

the university s men s baseball team named ncaa division ii east regional champions in 2015 after historic season. additionally, men s golf team earned ncaa division ii atlantic/east super regional title in both 2012 , 2015.

in addition ncaa division ii men s , women s athletic teams, wilmington university home successful, co-ed cheerleading team. university s cheerleading team named universal cheerleading association s national champions 5 consecutive years between 2012 , 2016.
