former stake president , church architect laurie lee hall excommunicated utah local leaders in june 2017 socially transitioning express gender identity transgender woman. had experienced years of suicidal ideation , gender dysphoria before being released stake president in 2012 due identity , had come out entire congregation year prior excommunication in july 2016.
