on 26 september 2003, indian troops kill 8 anvc militants in 2 separate encounters, in west garo hills district.


on 23 july 2004, anvc signed extended ceasefire agreement indian government, while maintaining low level activity. power vacuum created ceasefire lead creation of several rebel groups, including riuf, uanf, hula, hnsra.


on 24 july 2007, hnlc chairman julius dorphang surrendered authorities after abandoning faction s camp in maulvi bazar district of bangladesh, 4 other rebels accompanied dorphang in decision.


on 12 october 2008, policemen shot , killed top plf-m commander pollendro marak, in aftermath of encounter in area of boganol village, east garo hills.


on 10 december 2010, 4 gnla rebels killed 5 detained in clash police officers took place in east garo hills district.


on 5 april 2011, gnla killed 5 migrant coal miners , injured in goka coal dumping area south garo hills district.


on 9 august 2011, 4 gnla militants slain, including senior commander, following police operation. events took place in bolkengre village, east khasi hills district.

between 8–17 july 2014, authorities detained 14 asak guerillas in areas of williamnagar, soksan , rongjeng, weapons, sim cards, ammunition , demand notes seized.


on 28 august 2014, police recovered bodies of 4 kidnapped, civilians, in oragitok village, west garo hills, meghalaya.


on 13 september 2014, shootout between members of gnla , amef led death of 4 gnla rebels, in bolmaram jungle, east garo hills.


on 24 september 2014, heads of anvc rebel group , anvc rimpu marak splinter faction signed peace accord government of meghalaya. agreement enhances autonomy garo hills autonomous district , includes financial aid, facilitate socio-economic , educational development of area. in return rebels agreed disband within period of 3 months.


on 22 october 2014, security forces detained 6 ulfa rebels in village of pedaldoba, tikrikilla, menghalaya, 6 pistols, 2 grenades , 20 rounds of ammunition confiscated.


on 25 november 2014, authorities arrested acak commander william sangma along fellow guerrilla in tirupur district of tamil nadu.


on 7 december 2014, security forces uncovered amef camp in village of papara abri, east garo hills. approximately 20 militants escaped jungle, police seized explosives, radio sets, pistols , documentation.


on 18 december 2014, indian military killed 2 uala fighters in village of thanti pick hills, goalpara district, assam.


on 16 february 2015, 4 garo national liberation army , 2 asak cadres surrendered @ east garo hills police station, 5 weapons , on 100 rounds of ammunition transferred.


on 2 march 2015, bomb blast wounded 2 petrol pump employees in west khasi hills district, owner of pump had fallen victim of extortion attempts gnla militants.


on 5 march 2015, 10 members of amef nabed in connection illegal arms trade operations in west , north garo hills.


on 10 march 2015, joint ulfa – gnla ambush resulted in deaths of 4 policemen in panda reserve, rongara, south garo hills, menghalaya.


on 18 march 2015, government of meghalaya sanctioned creation of new counter insurgency battalion, known special force 10, unit receive, riot management, jungle , urban warfare training.
