the georgetown university rugby football club intercollegiate men s rugby union team represents georgetown in usa rugby division ii competition. founded in spring semester of 1967 former members of washington d.c. rugby football club including graduate student michael murphy. in 2005, georgetown s first reached final 4 of usa rugby collegiate division ii national tournament. hoya ruggers again reached semifinals in 2009 in palo alto, california, , have had undefeated 2009-10 season.


a women s rugby team founded in 2000, , plays in division ii in potomac rugby union (pru). have won pru championship 4 consecutive times 2006 2009. have been invited mid-atlantic rugby football union tournament 3 times, , runners-up in 2006-07.


ice hockey

the georgetown ice hockey club team has won acchl championship 4 times.


georgetown s ice hockey team plays in acha division ii in atlantic coast collegiate hockey league (acchl) 1 of 3 teams primary conference not atlantic coast conference. since joining conference in 2003, team has won conference championship 4 times, in 2004-05, 2006–07, 2007–08, , again in 2012-13. team played in division iii mason-dixon collegiate hockey association, won league championship in 1997, 1999, , 2000. in 2001 , 2002, invited national tournament of american collegiate hockey association, team had joined in 1999. coach brad card leads team, taking on bench coach john kokidko. team plays home matches @ washington capitals practice arena, kettler capitals iceplex in ballston, arlington, virginia @ ballston common mall.
