through 1942-1945, during years of united states involvement in world war ii, of walker-turner s production capacity focused on war effort. catalogs , other documentation period may scarce. due paper shortages, model years may not have had catalogs printed @ , other years saw limited print runs. during time frame, walker-turner s first 20 drill press, d-1100 introduced.
in 1948, walker-turner sold milwaukee machine tool maker kearney & trecker , company becomes walker-turner division of kearney & trecker . production continued still @ existing facility @ plainfield. under new name, new machines re-badged saying walker-turner company inc. walker-turner division of kearney & trecker corporation .
starting in april 1950 new serial numbers brought use. these new serials formatted yymsqd yy year of manufacture, m type of machine, s specific model of machine, q quarter of year of manufacture, , d notes deviation standard model.
in 1952 new plant constructed @ 900 south avenue in plainfield.
in 1956 kearney & trecker sells walker-turner rockwell manufacturing co.
in 1957 rockwell ceases production in plainfield , closes former walker-turner facilities. production of walker-turner badged machines moves bellefontaine, ohio , tupelo, mississippi.
