there have been plans since 1998 restore , electrify section of aar valley railway between bad schwalbach , wiesbaden-dotzheim part of proposed wiesbaden stadtbahn , building new line dotzheim through central city wiesbaden central station (hauptbahnhof), including option of extension mainz. proposed open new line 2005. after local elections in 2001, majority in wiesbaden city council abandoned these plans. however, election in 2011 has changed balance in council , plans stadtbahn have been revived, although proposed initial stage not connect aar valley railway.
