following 1926 administrative reform, borders of historical county identical ones of current constanța county, exception of ostrov , lipnița communes, administered durostor county, baia commune, part of tulcea county, , villages of tereskondu, pârâul caprei, fundeni, pădureni, saldu alde , enigea-haidar, in bulgaria.

after 1938 administrative , constitutional reform, county merged counties of ialomița, durostor , caliacra form Ținutul mării. re-established in 1940 after fall of carol ii s regime. ten years later, abolished communist regime.
