macintyre took part in first series of channel 4 reality series jump in 2014.


at beginning of show on third day revealed competitor henry conway had pull out of jump due injury during training skeleton. revealed macintyre along joe mcelderry had been training standbys, , 1 of them join competition replace conway. both had complete live ski-jump, celebrity jumping furthest joining competition. both jumped k24, medium-sized jump, joe mcelderry jumping 15.0 meters , macintyre jumping 11.5 meters meaning mcelderry joined competition replace conway.


on fourth day, revealed competitor melinda messenger had pull out of jump due injury during training bobsleigh. revealed macintyre take place fifth night (30 january 2014).


after facing jump number of times throughout series, macintyre claimed second place on jump in final on 3 february 2014. lost out joe mcelderry, won series.
