youth , varsity cup rugby

he included in free state u21 squad 2011 under-21 provincial championship, didn t make appearances them. in 2012, included in ufs shimlas squad 2012 varsity cup. played 7 times shimlas, scoring tries in matches against tut vikings , nwu pukke. returned make 2 substitute appearances during 2013 varsity cup , started in 5 matches shimlas during 2014 varsity cup.


free state

after first season of varsity cup rugby, included in free state xv squad 2012 vodacom cup. made first class debut when played off bench in match against sharks xv in bloemfontein. week later, started next match against eastern province kings in port elizabeth, turned out 2 appearances bloemfontein-based side.


griffons

he joined welkom-based side griffons 2012 currie cup first division competition. made currie cup debut in 53–33 victory on border bulldogs in east london. 3 more appearances off bench followed before koster started final 2 matches of season, both of against pumas – first 39–29 victory griffons in final match of regular season , in semi-final, griffons lost 37–30.


koster started 5 matches griffons during 2013 vodacom cup competition , returned 2014 vodacom cup competition, made 3 appearances. made 6 appearances griffons during 2014 currie cup qualification competition; during competition, scored first senior try in match against leopards , followed further tries in next 2 matches against border bulldogs , falcons. griffons finished third in competition remain in first division in 2014.


he appeared in 7 of griffons matches in 2014 currie cup first division campaign them finish group stage in second place behind leopards. started semi-final match against swd eagles, griffons ran out 45–43 winners , once again in starting line-up final against falcons. played full 80 minutes of match griffons ran out 23–21 winners win first silverware 6 years.


shortly after conclusion of 2014 currie cup first division, koster included in cheetahs wider training squad part of preparations 2015 super rugby season.
