today, osborne house under care of english heritage , open public. former naval college s cricket pavilion converted holiday cottage in 2004.


since 2005, house has hosted picnic-style concerts on lawn outside main house.


english heritage has management contract run osborne house historic tourist attraction. house s ownership since 1971 has been held in private trust connected historic royal palaces, agency covering, among others, hampton court palace , tower of london.


queen victoria s private beach @ osborne, including personal bathing machine, opened public first time in july 2012 following extensive restoration programme.
