in 2011 belgian philippe gilbert won liège–bastogne–liège, completing unique streak of classics victories in span of ten days. gilbert had won brabantse pijl, amstel gold race , la flèche wallonne, achieving historic quadruple of victories in hilly classics of april. gilbert beat luxembourg brothers fränck , andy schleck in sprint of three.
