ordinary kilims: type of kilim woven hemp, cotton , wool threads.
gunny kilim: special type woven varicolored pieces of cloth.
suzāni kilim: type embroidered raised figures after ordinary kilim woven.
needlework kilim: type of kilim hung on wall , woven cotton threads.
jol (جل): kind of kilim surface of embroidered. decorative designs, used horse saddles.
palās or palaz (پلاس): kind of kilim in each color used weaving several rajs, not have pile. palas name used coarse woollen robes dervish wear.
jājim (جاجیم) or chador-shab (چادرشب): kind of striped carpet woven colored threads , thinner palas.
zilu (زیلو): kind of kilim woven cotton threads , simple designs quite in harmony rural life. has cotton warp , weft.
rakht-e-khāb pich (رختخواب‌پیچ, bed-packing ): type of kilim used migrating tribes.
charkhi-bāf kilim (چرخی‌باف): kind of sturdy , thick kilim 1 side of can used.
khorjin (saddle-bags) , juwals: these kilims used carrying goods.
gilimcheh (گلیمچه, small kilim ): these woven kilims tiny , decorative.
masnads: these sturdy , fine-woven decorative kilimeches.
navār-chādor (نوارچادر, tent-band ): type of kilim decorative.
sajādeh (سجاده, prayer kilims): these woven altar designs , used praying.
ghigh: kilim used walls of tents; both of side same , can used alike.
rah rah (گلیم راه‌راه): these kilims (or, more precisely, soumak rugs) woven in sirjan region , called khatti design kilims. ardebil , moghan woven in same design in lower qualities.
kamoo sofreh (سفره کامو): these sofrehs woven in kamoo , called natural design sofrehs.

anatolian (turkish)

perhaps best known , highly regarded, these kilims (or kelims) traditionally distinguished areas, villages or cities in produced, such konya, malatya, karapinar , hotamis. anatolian kilims slit woven. larger antique kilims woven in 2 3 separate sections on small nomadic horizontal floor looms in 3 feet wide long strips, sewn matching patterns edges create wider rug. these pieces still being produced in limited quantities nomadic tribes personal use , commonly known cicims.



cicim or jijim or jajim: kilims woven in narrow strips sewn together.
