during reign of stefan dushan, 1331–55, taking advantage of byzantine civil war of 1341–1347, area of elbasan, krujë, berat , vlora (principality of valona) added nascent serbian empire. in 1346 patriarchal throne permanently established @ pec monastery. in 1346, after epirus , thessaly added serbian empire, dusan crowned emperor of serbs , greeks in city of skopje. legal code promulgated , bishopric of pec proclaimed patriarchate established serbian orthodox church independent constantinople. prizren became political capital of serbian empire , chief serbian city of trade , commerce. after death of dushan in 1355, kosovo ruled king vukasin mrnjavcevic, co-ruler tsar uros, last of nemanjic rulers.


after fall of serbian empire, several albanian principalities created in territories.
