along powercd, apple released 2 versions of desktop speakers: appledesign powered speakers , redesigned appledesign powered speakers ii year later. original speakers came in platinum gray match apple s desktop line, while second generation curvier , came in darker gray color designed match powerbook line , powercd. both powered ac adapter , attached audio output source, 2 separate inputs computer , external cd player. both had headphone jack in front of 1 speaker along volume control , optional subwoofer connection port on models.
