at point widens become four-lane divided highway west of almond road , enters southern part of gurnee travels near merit club golf course lies south of t intersection hunt club road. eastbound approach intersection features dual-left turn lanes on entire length of illinois 120. remaining section of highway, although briefly limited-access, have limited signalized intersections keeps traffic flowing @ more constant rate. first passes under grade separation @ illinois route 21 (milwaukee avenue) , goes on des plaines river before forming interchange interstate 94 (tri-state tollway). southbound access permitted i-94; northbound access available via il 21. next enters part of waukegan area , shortly encounters at-grade intersection o plaine road , continues more grade separation @ canadian pacific railway (cp) tracks , greenleaf avenue. interchanges il 43 (waukegan road) , u.s. route 41 (skokie highway) closely follow 1 brief transition park city located between these 2 junctions. can confusing in area there no direct access northbound us-41 or southbound il-43, terminates north @ us-41. illinois 120 loses divided highway status after traveling on union pacific (up) tracks , passing last stretch of businesses reenters waukegan. reaches commercially developed, signalized intersection of illinois route 131 (green bay road) terminates state route; belvidere road continues east local road.
