the museum situated @ museumplein in amsterdam-zuid, on paulus potterstraat 7, between stedelijk museum , rijksmuseum. museum consists of 2 buildings, rietveld building, designed gerrit rietveld, , kurokawa wing, designed kisho kurokawa. museum offices housed on stadhouderskade 55 in amsterdam-zuid.

the rietveld building main structure of museum , exhibits permanent collection. building has rectangular floor plan , 4 stories high. on ground floor shop, café, , introductory part of art exhibition. first floor shows works of van gogh grouped chronologically. second floor gives information restoration of paintings , has space minor temporary exhibitions. third floor shows paintings of van gogh s contemporaries in relationship work of van gogh himself.


kurokawa wing

the kurokawa wing used major temporary exhibitions. building has oval floor plan , 3 stories high. entrance kurokawa wing via underground tunnel rietveld building.
