the 2013 event second time omaha hosted u.s. championships. competitors qualified @ eastern, midwestern, or pacific coast sectional championships or earned bye.


defending champion jeremy abbott won men s short program, ross miner in second , joshua farris in third. max aaron placed first in free skate, miner second, , abbott third. aaron won gold, first senior national medal, miner took silver, abbott bronze, , farris pewter medal.


defending champion ashley wagner first in ladies short program, followed agnes zawadzki , mirai nagasu. gracie gold won long program , rose 9th claim silver medal, while wagner second in segment first overall , won second national title. bronze medalist zawadzki s combined score kept on podium , courtney hicks took pewter medal.


none of top 3 partnerships 2012 competed in pairs event, denney / coughlin being absent due coughlin s surgery , other 2 pairs having split. longtime pair marissa castelli / simon shnapir won short program ahead of relatively new teams felicia zhang / nathan bartholomay , alexa scimeca / christopher knierim. castelli / shnapir third in free skate remained first in overall standings , took first national title, while silver went scimeca / knierim , bronze zhang / bartholomay.


defending champions meryl davis / charlie white first in short dance ahead of madison chock / evan bates , maia shibutani / alex shibutani. standings same in free dance. davis / white won fifth national title, chock / bates took silver, first time on podium team, shibutanis settled bronze, , madison hubbell / zachary donohue took pewter medal.
