the aspen–pitkin county airport terminal 44,000 square feet (4,100 m) single floor facility, has undergone several renovations since original construction in 1976. airport terminal hosts 6 rental car operations, year-round guest services operation, , restaurant , gift shop concessions. of fall 2009, airport undertaking terminal area plan, evaluating potential improvements existing facility, or construction of new facility on or near existing terminal site. study expected complete in 2010.
