possibly domesday site. in eighteenth century millers keeys family, richard c.1740, followed son richard. in 1840 mill owned henry streatfield , in occupation of james young. wife of son james jr died in 1853, james jr describes being of chiddingstone mill . mill last worked in 1930s.
