the 2014 general election held in 9 phases 7 april 12 may, constitute 16th lok sabha. results of election announced on 16 may 2014.


on 20 may 2014, meeting of parliamentary party of bjp organised @ central hall of parliament of india , narendra modi elected leader. subsequently, bjp president rajnath singh along other leaders of ally parties of nda, met president pranab mukherjee @ rashtrapati bhavan , handed on support letter of 335 members of parliament , claimed government formation. following this, mukherjee invited modi , under powers vested on him under constitution of india, appointed him prime minister of india , sought advice names of members of council of ministers of government. on 9 november 2014, there expansion , reshuffling in cabinet , 21 new cabinet ministers sworn in.
