stiller played short-tempered frank costanza, father of george costanza in sitcom seinfeld 1993 1998. nominated emmy outstanding guest actor in comedy series in 1997, , won american comedy award funniest male guest appearance in tv series portrayal of frank costanza.


the king of queens

after seinfeld s run ended, stiller had planned on retiring, kevin james asked him join cast of king of queens. james, played leading role of doug heffernan, had told stiller needed him in order have successful show. stiller obliged, , played role of arthur spooner, father of carrie heffernan, in sitcom 1998 until 2007. stiller said role tested acting ability more others have , that, before being part of king of queens, saw himself decent actor .

in late 1990s, stiller appeared in series of nike television commercials ghost of deceased green bay packers head coach vince lombardi. stiller has appeared in various motion pictures, notably zoolander (2001) , secret of andes (1999). on february 9, 2007, stiller , meara honored joint star on hollywood walk of fame. on october 28, 2010, couple appeared on episode of daily show jon stewart. stiller voiced announcer on children s educational show crashbox. starting in october 2010, stiller , meara began starring in yahoo web series, stiller & meara red hour digital, in discussed current topics. each episode 2 minutes long. of 2012, stiller has been spokesman xfinity.
