^ bridget (anderson) hodder, p. 45: quoting br. scott, father trevor murray, 1983 edmund rice college magazine: on beautiful day in december 1982, trevor murray ordained priesthood bishop edward gaines. more 2000 relatives , friends gathered @ rotowhio marae, whakarewarewa, celebrate important day new diocese of hamilton [created in 1981] , edmund rice college. father trevor first maori ordained in rotorua, first priest ordained hamilton diocese, , first old boy of edmund rice college become priest. on following day, december 5th, father trevor celebrated first mass on same marae. congratulate father trevor on ordination priesthood , wish him every blessing future.
