the kansas lottery act requires minimum of 45 percent of total sales paid players through prize fund. in fiscal year 2009 (july 1, 2008 through june 30, 2009), kansas lottery paid out 56 percent in prizes. state gaming revenues fund received 29 percent of ticket sales; cost of sales 4 percent (which covers online vendor fees, telecommunications costs , instant ticket printing); 6 percent paid lottery retailers commissions , bonuses; , 5 percent covered administrative expenses (salaries, advertising, depreciation, professional services , other administrative expenses.) state gaming revenues fund (sgrf) funded through monthly transfers kansas lottery. transfers made gaming fund funds dedicated economic development initiatives, prison construction , maintenance projects, local juvenile detention facilities, problem gambling assistance, , state general fund.


of first $50 million, $80,000 transferred problem gambling , addictions grant fund. of remaining $49.92 million, 85 percent of remainder transferred economic development initiatives fund, 10 percent correctional institutions building fund, , 5 percent juvenile detention facilities fund. receipts in excess of $50 million must transferred state general fund.

rural opportunity program: program helps attract investment, business development , job growth in rural areas of state. provides additional funding center entrepreneurship, kansas main street , capacity building grants.


ktec grant programs: kansas technology enterprise corporation (ktec) provides research support, direct company investments , business assistance. ktec s philosophy targets sustainable economic leadership through technological innovation , business acceleration.


senior community service employment program: program provides kansans aged 55 , on employment placement services emphasis on employment in private sector.


kansas commission on disability concerns: kcdc provides policy recommendations state of kansas on changes laws, regulations , programs affect people disabilities. kcdc provides information , training public.


strong military bases program: program supports ongoing efforts of governor s military council prevent closure or downsizing of state s military bases.
