2008-2009

the 2008 model year launched in late 2007.


2010

2010 model revised fairing , higher mirrors


for 2010, kawasaki made significant revisions including adding ktrc traction control , k-act abs , brake assist, linked brakes optional in markets , standard in others. 2010 model has revised bodywork improve engine cooling , reduce engine heat rider, mirrors raised 40 mm (1.6 in), dashbord top redesigned vents relieve pressure, larger wind screen , memory function , auto-lowering, heat shield across midsection of exhaust pipe, handlebar-mounted switch control dash computer, variable heated grips, optional fuel economy assistance mode tells ecu use leaner, more economical air-fuel ratio @ engine speeds less 6,000 rpm , road speed less 80 mph (130 km/h), economical riding indicator added dashboard. tank-mounted storage area removed , replaced auto-locking glove box in left fairing, exhaust silencer cap changed, 2 color seat replaced single color model, instrument cluster illumination changed red white, ambient outdoor temperature display option added computer display, included key sets changed 2 active fobs/keys 1 active fob/key , 1 passive mini fob/key, front fork fluid levels increased 25ml, , oil pan modified drain plug faces forward instead of downward prevent damage. ecu programmed limit top speed 154 mph. rear pannier covers painted (instead of leaving black area @ bottom). many people refer 2010+ models 2nd generation (or gen 2 ) of c14.


2011

no significant changes made between 2010 , 2011 models, although abs became standard. front rotors redesigned.


2012-2014

starting 2012 model, front rotors changed have smaller carrier resist warping.


2015-2017

kawasaki made numerous minor changes in 2015 include revised first gear ratio, different steering stem seal lighter steering @ low speed, stiffer rear suspension enhanced carrying capacity, adjustable vent in windshield, revised abs programming reduce linked braking effect, new rear luggage base, silver bezels on analog dash meters, elongated mid-pipe heat shield, change of warning lamp color red yellow, tank pad, cushions on passenger pegs, , more sculpted seat. revised parts should backwards compatible previous model years. kawasaki shifted north american models use oxygen sensor had been used in other world markets.


2018

unchanged. 1400gtr 1 of on dozen kawasaki models no 2018 model year in eu market because redeisigned meet euro 4 emissions standards.
